KVMPA is an alternative education program serving students in grades 7–12. Career exploration and real-world work provide the foundation for academic learning.

At the center of our program is a student-run aquaculture and aquaponics facility where students operate real food-production systems. Students raise fish, monitor water chemistry, collect and analyze data, build and repair systems, grow plants from seed, troubleshoot problems and harvest fresh food.

Our students grow lettuce and other produce for local schools and our community. They explore the full cycle of sustainable food production - from breeding fish to transforming waste from our system into Tilapia Gold, a student produced soil amendment.

Learning extends beyond through our greenhouse, shop, kitchen, community partnerships and field based experiences.
